WHY ?
It was a power object  in ancient civilization.
Indian astrologers would normally recommend crystals to their clients, in order to counteract negative planetary influences.
We will be crystallizing ourselves to being in alignment and in integrity with our thoughts, words,  and actions, thus , harmonizing our body and mind.
The next stage would be crystal programming; as crystals can be programmed personally for goal setting, protection and  manifesting dreams! Simply awesome !

HOW TO CHOOSE A CRYSTAL?
It has to do with its universal energy vibration.
You will be attracted to its physical appearance.
Hold the desired piece, and be sensitive to how it pulsates, and feel if its warm or cold in your hand.
Hold in your hand, relax , and take a deep breath; feel it.

HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR CRYSTALS?

Crystals need air and light. These stones are pulsating with vibration energy .They love the salty sea water, and loves to be buried in the belly of mother earth,occasionally, to recharge their power!
It should not be allowed to collect dust! Therefore, place your crystal accessories in a bowl or pouch after use.
Once you have purchased your desired crystal piece, you must clean it thoroughly; soak it in salt water (sea water) for 7 days  and 7 day night preferably.  Alternatively, you could soak it for 3 days and 3 nights, placing them under the morning sunlight to absorb the divine energy.
Rinse, and place the crystal pieces in you altar, if you have one, otherwise, activate the crystal with your personal mantras and positive thoughts and wishes! Good luck to You! You will see some amazing changes in your life;surely. Trust me on that!
