Basically, there are three types of afflictions,
a. The three killings.
b. The five yellow ; Wu Wang.
c. The Grand Duke Jupiter, we shall refer as GDJ.
The three killings
You confront or sit facing the East in 2009; never have the 3 killing direction behind you. If disturbed it brings you 3 types of misfortunes.
The cure for this affliction are the 3 celestial guardians; the Chi Lin, Fu Dog, and the Pi Yao.
I have personally placed my pair of Chi Lins in the East.

The 5 yellow
The five yellow flies into the North sector in 2009. The middle son in the family will face ear and kidney health problems, if the affliction is not suppressed.
Place the five element pagoda in the North; filling it with soil taken from an auspicious sector of the garden.
Keep the area quiet this year, as noise, and any form of renovation here could trigger its negative effects. If the 5 yellow is disturbed, it brings loss of employment, robbery, accidents and at times death!
As North is of water element, naturally the 5 yellow is already weakened, nevertheless, you must place your cures i.e. the 5 element pagoda in the North.
You could hang a 6 rod metal windchime in the North, a melodious and lovely cure!

The Grand Duke Jupiter
In 2009, the Northeast sector of the home, office, country and the world, is afflicted with the Tai Sui or the God of the year.
You never sit confronting the GDJ ; therefore, in 2009 even if Northeast is one of your lucky directions based on the Kua Formula, you DO NOT face the Northeast this year. Doing so would invoke the wrath of the Duke , and well, you wouldn’t want to be in that situation, trust me on that!
The sheep are in confilct with the Tai Sui in 2009, therefore, you will have to thread very carefully in all your undertakings. Have your protection amulet with you all the time; the Tai Sui amulet .
To appease the Grand Duke, place a pair of metal or jade Pi Yao in the Northeast sector.
